Information regarding course registration in winter semester 2026/27
- First-time registration:
- Online pre-registration: July 31, 2026 at approximately 9:00 am to Aug 13, 2026, 11:59 pm (CEST)
- German placement tests (after successful online pre-registration): Aug 6 to Aug 17, 2026
- Appointments are assigned by VWU, students CANNOT choose the date of the test!

- Students from ZIB / dB / SZUW (course level FG/WF, with one or more supplementary examinations other than German in their admission letter): For further information please see group b
- Requests for 5th and 6th semesters (in person!): June 29, June 30, July 8 and July 9, 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon in the secretary's office, further information is available here
- Informative meeting (only for new students at VWU in Sechshauser Straße): Sep 24, 2026 (in person), in the afternoon
- Course start (only for students at VWU in Sechshauser Straße): Sep 25, 2026 (first course day is online)
Supplementary examinations
- September 2026 / Registration: Registration closed
- November 2026 / Registration: October 16 to October 29 (12.00 noon, CET) 2026, online
PLEASE NOTE: Supplementary exams in November take place after the universities' admission period has ended. Starting a regular degree programme at the university in the winter semester 2026 is therefore not possible with this exam date! We recommend not to complete the preparation programme (your last supplementary exam) on this exam date, if you are registered for a VWU course. You will be deregistered from your university on the day of your last supplementary examination. You will then no longer be enrolled as a non-degree programme student for the winter semester 2026 and will not receive any confirmations for the winter semester 2026. Should you attend a course, a pro-rata refund of the course fee will not be possible!
